But what are superfoods?
They’re plant foods that are loaded with plant nutrients called phytonutrients. Additional nutrients run the list from vitamins, minerals, special fibers called probiotics, and even more. These plant foods are super because they are to good for you. In fact, many of these superfoods have properties that science has found to help in either preventing or treating serious diseases.
The list of benefits you’ll get from superfoods is long and in addition to those benefits, you can use superfoods for weight loss.
You need to be careful about what you read and believe with nuts, and there are many different kinds. For example, you’ll come across those who say that nuts isn’t good for weight loss because of their high fat content. There are nuts that contain unhealthy fats, but this doesn’t mean all nuts have these fats in them. In fact, the healthy nuts have good fats in them in addition to fiber and other important nutrients. When you add nuts to your weight loss diet, make sure you do so in sensible amounts. A good amount to eat is roughly one ounce per day. Nuts are very filling and they’re great for snacks.

These are substances that the body is unable to digest but serve as food for the good bacteria in the digestive tract. Incorporating kiwi to your diet will promote regular bowel movement and keep excess waste from accumulating in your intestines.
A nutritious superfood that is great for encouraging weight loss is the sweet potato. This food is much better for you than regular potatoes for many reasons. Anytime you a regular baked potato, it has almost no taste to it.
Because of this, people love to smother their baked potatoes with salt and butter. With sweet potatoes, well… they are not called sweet for no reason. If you’re thinking of adding butter or salt to baked sweet potatoes, think twice. Try eating them by themselves first. Also, sweet potatoes are a good source of vitamins and minerals. In particular, they’re loaded with vitamin A. Another nutrient found in sweet potatoes is potassium. Essentially, sweet potatoes promote heart healthy.
