Did you know that if you try too hard to be healthier you can get in your own way?
When you try too hard to do too many healthier things you can actually undo your own efforts and cause problems for yourself. It’s true! The problem is that there are so many advice columns, books, television shows, magazine articles, etc that are packed full of advice on all of the things that you need to do differently that it’s easy to get stressed out. The truth is that there are plenty of basic things you can do to be healthier too.
Here are a few of them. Do these things to be healthier.
Eat a good breakfast. This doesn’t mean starving yourself and eating only a few pieces of fruit or a smoothie. Eat a real breakfast with bacon and eggs. Breakfasts that are at least six hundred calories and filled with protein, choline and other vitamins and nutrients are what you need. Bacon and eggs are full of these things. When you starve yourself in the morning you will be hungrier, less energetic and more distracted during the day. This means that you will make a lot more foolish choices during the day that can actually work against your healthfulness levels.
Tilt up your rear view mirror while you drive. That probably sounds too simple but it is still important. Don’t tilt it up too high-just high enough that you have to sit up straight and with good posture to be able to see behind you. The posture will help keep your back straight which will help it feel better throughout the day. Slouching in the mornings-particularly while you drive-can keep you feeling sluggish and behind during the day. Believe it or not, when you practice proper posture long enough you will start to feel uncomfortable when you slouch! Your back will thank you. Trust us on this.
Learn to lean back in your desk chair sometimes. This doesn’t mean that you should slouch. Slouching is terrible for your back. It also isn’t good to be sitting at a perfect ninety degree angle all day as this can put strain on your spine. While keeping the spine straight, allow your back to lean backward at a forty five degree angle from your legs and bottom. This helps the spine relax a little bit and stay healthier while still practicing proper posture. It is the curving that happens while you slouch that can cause back problems.
There are all sorts of every day little things that you can do to stay healthier for a long time.
The fact is that trying too hard to be healthier can actually work against you. Stressing out and making lots of big changes will get in the way of your efforts to lose weight and keep your body toned, fit and healthier. Simple changes in behavior, on the other hand, and practicing sensibility can be a great way to get healthier and to live a healthier lifestyle.
